Subject: Are you good sports? (was Gaus)

Awhile ago I posted an incident I had while learning J. I was bold enough
to assume I can make some comments on the language. I guess I was wrong!
You were quick to reply that *I* made a mistake and that it this doesn't
give me the right to critisize J. I partly agree.

I made a tentative remark, base on knowing (after learning) many compter
languages. Including some rather obscure ones. I even had a go at APL...
I didn't conclude that J is flawed just remarked that it is hard to learn
because of several things. I noted them since I am a beginner. Sure Roger
doesn't find them hard - it is not really surprising...

I made some suggestions, and not for the first time, how to help people
ease into J. I said that I think small examples can help. I wanted help
on writing up a J-FAQ more relevant to programming (like the comp.lnag.c
faq that talks about common errors etc.) I am not just making comments. I
think J is one great language, I just point some things I find
probelmatic. Maybe it would be better to listen and see how together we
can improve the little that needs improvement....

P.S
Anyway thanks for all the J ideas posted.
