I am trying to learn J, my only source of information currently being the
Net. I have several quation that can help put me in the right direction.

I am trying to understand small examples posted here, like the band
matrixes. This kind of short and concise examples helps alot. POST MORE
PLEASE!

Now to my questions:
 1. Can some one explain fit (i.e !.) ?

 2. How can you tell if a verb is to be used monadically or dyadically?
As far as I can see there is no sure way, but maybe some hints can be useful.

 3. Can you tell from the tree represantaion (5!:4) what the order of
evaluation is going to be? I find the tree represantion a great help
trying to decipher if a something is hook, fork etc.

 4. Can someone post an explanation of band or calendar or something of
comparable length, which will explain each verb defined answering these
questions:
    a. How to "parse" the expresion (e.g hook of tso forks etc..)
    b. What actually happens when the verbs are inoked (order of evaluation)
    c. Purpose of each verb. Is it a monad/dyad both? How do you go about
creating one?

  5. Did someone archive the "Newbe question part n" series that featured
on this group some weeks ago? I think that with some editing it can be an
immense help to guys learning J.

Thanks in advance, You are my only chance of learning J, so please don;t
flame on my clear lack of knowledge.

Again, thnaks.

Wirth and Stroustrup, Meyer and the rest are just a prelude to Iverson...
