Organization: Food and Drug Administration
Date: Wed, 12 May 1993 01:11:24 EDT

On Monday, May 17, 1993, at 7:30 PM
                         The Potomac ACM SIGAPL
                              jointly with
The APL Special Interest Group of the Capital PC User Group
                                Presents
                            Rick Butterworth
              Learning Windows(tm) with APL*PLUS(r) II/386

Rick Butterworth will share his experience learning Windows with
APL*PLUS II/386, v5.1 (beta release) and the APLGUI, an experience that
is nowhere complete. A brief description of the APL*PLUS II interface
to Windows helps understand how this implementation differs from that of
other APL implementations, particularly helpful when it comes to
installation of the APLGUI. Rick will demonstrate the APLGUI editor by
building a simple Windows form. He will show how to use the Windows
common user dialogue for file name query from APL. Finally, Rick will
illustrate the practical use of "instancing" for APLGUI form controls.
