Kestrel Consulting plans to launch a new APL Software Library in the near
future. What we want to do is to increase the amount of common material
available to the application developer across the many varieties of APL.

A first step is to establish a resource pool of publicly-available APL tools.

This has, indeed, been done before to some extent. The Finnish
and Toronto Utility Toolkits are examples; Dick Holt's Bulletin Board is
another. There are more. We want to ADD to this resource pool, not compete
against it. The more common code we can all use to develop applications then
the greater the proportion of our time we can all spend on the truly unique
aspects of each.

We are interested in tools for all flavours of APL. We are even more
interested in tools that help bridge the differences between implementations.

The emphasis will be on low cost; Kestrel's interest is (almost) altruistic.

If you have software which you'd like to offer please contact me; we have an
Information Pack for Authors. If there are tools you need but can't find then
let us know about those needs as well. And finally, we are interested in
cooperating with all other APL software libraries; let's build new tools
rather than reinvent old ones.
