F1, the help key provides some instructions on using the product.

Actually, the white bar is used for this.
Hitting Ctrl-return copies the highlighted line to the current line.
Then you can edit it.

PC j has a screen editor, but it has no save function I can find, 
and no means of putting the text into a function definition or
anything else but the screen.  So far, it seems to be absolutely useless
to me.
