Oh my.  A year ago I started one of these, with a posting of
"APL/!".  There was a huge amount of traffic (for this group),
and I saved it all.  Anyway, I think an ASCII APL is useful
for telecommunications (who in this group runs APL through
a modem?) and occasionally for printing to non-postscript
devices.  I actually implemented a second design, "APL?!",
and used it on occasion.  

I'll repost APL/! (12/31/91) and APL?! (3/30/92).  Although
some details have changed, the design philosophies haven't.
