Some months ago I commented on my experience with ISI's J literature
which has been further extended now.

If you've been as frustrated by "Programming in J" as a first course
as I was, but were able manage the later written "Introduction", you
should consider to give the PiJ a second stab.  I was surprised how
accessible it is now to me.
