making a comparision to shakespeare is  certainly amusing (it brings to
mind the dan quayle-lloyd bentsen debate exchange over jfk ) . 

anyway, to be fair, i guess i should critique shakespeare (or perhaps
bacon?) as well:
as a source of instruction in how to write plays and sonnets,
Shakespeare's works are somewhat wanting. they are best used as a
exemplar of good writing style. 

i guess this thread has gone as far as it is worth pursuing, at least for
me.
