You can get a copy of the source for version 4.1 of J via anonymous
ftp from "watserv1.waterloo.edu" in the directory
 ~/languages/apl/j/source .
The J source code seems to challenge the stock C compiler on VMS.

I know of two versions of APL for VMS running on VAX.

VAX APL from DEC
For VAX APL, I suppose one would contact
	their nearest DEC representative.

WATCOM APL
	This may be ordered from:

	WATCOM APL
	415 Phillip St.
	Waterloo, Ontario
	Canada N2L 3X2
	(519) 886-3700

Unless one were already a good customer of one of these companies,
I would estimate the probability that they would supply a copy
of their APL just to play around with to be quite small.
