     Yeah, funny things happen when companies phase out APL.  I turned down a
job offer a few years back:  the company was looking for an APL programmer to
keep a single application running until they could get it ported to COBOL.
They were offering to train whoever they hired to continue as a COBOL
programmer thereafter, and thought that was some kind of *incentive*.
